1st Item: Persian Farahan Sarouk area rug, wool on cotton, central medallion with salmon central ground on a larger shaped navy ground, ivory ground spandrels, all with scrolling foliate designs, within three. conforming floral borders. 2 ft. 1 in. x 3 ft.1 in. Circa 1915 – 1920. 2nd item: Northwest Persian area rug, wool on cotton, with an asymmetrical blue ground central medallion within a larger red ground medallion, all with allover foliate decoration within three primary borders. 2 ft. 3 in. x 1 ft. 9 in. Circa 1930.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: 1st item: Uneven pile wear, loss to fringed ends. 2nd item: Some knot wear, loss to fringed ends.
