After Desiderio da Settignano (Italian, 1428-1454) bronze bas relief sculpture depicting a young John the Baptist in profile, attired in a camel hair robe with a halo and holding a small reed cross. Signed "DOA 1454-" in lower right. 18 7/2" H x 9 1/2" W x 1 3/4" D. Late 19th/Early 20th Century.
PROVENANCE: Private Chattanooga, TN collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with significant light-green oxidation and some small spots of corrosion on the subject's shoulder, largest 1/8".
