Robert Berks (American, 1922-2011) bronzed clay or plaster bust depicting President Abraham Lincoln. Signed BERKS (with copyright) and dated "58". Mounted onto a brown stone base. Bust measures 11 1/2" H x approx. 6" W. Overall: 16 1/2" H. Note: Robert Berks was known for his highly textured sculptures of American political figures including John and Robert Kennedy. He created the Lincoln bust in the Kentucky Capitol dome in Frankfort.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Barbara K. Lipman, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Some chipping to front of hair and to lower right rear. Some chipping noted to left rear vertical edge.
