Decorative engraved frontispieces and engraved illustrations of Shakespeare and characters from his plays, each preceding the play to which they belong. The first volume contains The Life of Shakspeare, New Facts, &c, Shakespeare's Will, and Preface of the Players; before each play is a Preliminary Remarks section. Marbled interior boards. Owner inscription "Geo B Guild 1861 Bought of Mr. H. Blackmore – Gallatin, Tenn. 1856 " on first page of each volume. 10 1/4" H x 7" W. 2nd item: THE WORKS OF HOGARTH, London: J. Dicks, 313, Strand, c. 1880's; leatherbound, 124 pages with 62 illustrations including engraved illustration of "The Painter and His Pug" painting by William Hogarth on title page.
