Southeast Asian, Thai sterling silver cylindrical box with niello cartouche decoration depicting an elephant on the lid, and dancing figures on the body. Base marked “Silver Bangkok”. XRF tests as sterling. 3 3/4 in. H. 4.74 troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville collection, acquired by consignor’s father in Asia while serving in the Korean War.
CONDITION: Shallow dent to lid, light scratching to base.
