August Laux (American, 1847-1921) oil on canvas still life painting depicting a large cluster of red and golden-colored grapes surrounded by thick green leaves in a naturalistic setting. Signed and dated in black "A. Laux 1890" above grapes in the lower right quadrant. Inscribed "Delarue", en verso of frame. Housed in a molded giltwood frame with foliate and cable decorations. Sight: 35 3/4" H x 28 1/8" W. Framed: 45 3/4" H x 38 3/8" W.

CONDITION: Overall good condition with scattered minor exfoliation to paint layer and wear to edges of canvas. Canvas has been relined. Frame with scattered minor wear to gilt.
