Chinese blue and white porcelain bowl with prunus or "hawthorne" decoration, four character Yongzheng mark to underside and possibly of the period (18th century, 1723-1735), 3-7/8"H x 10" W x 10-1/8" D. Provenance: the estate of Marjorie Ann Yaple Compton, Nashville, Tennessee. Compton worked in the Institute of Far Eastern Languages at Yale University in the 1950s. Condition: Scattered dark glaze imperfections to center (most covered by design), one slight indention on bowl edge indicates an in-the-making imperfection, as it is completely glazed.
