Chinese He bronze cooking or pouring vessel, Han Dynasty (BC 206- AD 220), round form supported on three legs ending in hoof-form feet, with relief decorated cover and beak-form spout. 5 1/2 "H x 8" x 10". Inside, there is an old sales card from Shanghai Treasures of Los Angeles and a clipping showing a similar piece in an exhibit at the Otis Institute of Art and Design (LA).
PROVENANCE: The estate of a former resident of Los Angeles, California, acquired during his years spent living there in the 1950s.
CONDITION: Wear and oxidation commensurate with age, cover detached, hinged spout cover remains intact. Possible repair or reinforcement to one leg.
