Cherry Sheraton paneled blanket chest with poplar secondary. Hinged rectangular top and canted molding over paneled sides, case resting on double ring turned feet. 25 3/4 in. H x 37 3/4 in. W x 16 3/8 in. D. Indiana or Northern Kentucky, circa 1835.
PROVENANCE: The estate of John Z. C. Thomas, Knoxville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Older refinished surface. Old, stable splits to the top, hinges have been moved. Contemporary interior chain installed to prevent lid from falling back.
