James George Weiland (Ohio/France, 1872-1968) impressionist oil on canvas landscape painting depicting trees and flowers in a field before a mountain range beneath a blue sky. Signed "Weiland" lower left. Housed in a wooden frame with gilt trim. Sight: 19 1/2" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 25 1/4" H x 29 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with craquelure, areas of light buckling to sky. 3/4" x 1" area at center fluoresces under UV light, does not correspond to repair to canvas. Frame with minor abrasions.
