American School oil on board painting, laid on canvas, depicting a log cabin with a wooden fence and geese against a group of trees beneath a blue sky. Unsigned. Includes a laminated newspaper fragment of the end of President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, found tucked behind the stretcher. Housed in a burlwood frame with gilt trim. Sight: 6 3/4" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed: 10 3/4" H x 13 3/8" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. 1/8" x 1/8" loss to top right corner of board. Frame with minor losses and some slight shrinking of wood in lower right corner. Board is laid onto canvas.
