1st item: Red marble inkstand with Ron Loid Sauvage (France, 19th/20th century) patinated bronze sculpture of Lorenzo de Medici after the original by Michelangelo (signed at rear base), flanked by two gilt inkwells having bud finials and glass liners. Mounted with four ormolu feet. Illegible inscription to underside of marble. 8 3/8" H x 11" W x 6 3/8" D. 2nd item: Empire style pink marble footed desk clock surmounted by bronze mounts of a pair of birds and adorned with ribbon, cherub, and foliate swag hardware; porcelain face with Roman numerals marked "Bornand Marseille". Workings marked 3372. 6" H x 3" W x 2 1/4" D. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Minor fleabites to corners and edges of marble. Loss of one glass liner. Staining to both inkwell interiors. 2nd item: Scattered hardware pieces slightly loose. Minor wear to porcelain face at edges.
