Pair of French Sevres or Sevres style polychrome porcelain covered vases, now mounted as lamps, urn form with differing vignettes of Venus to one side and birds and butterflies to the reverse on a turquoise blue ground, accented with low relief gilt satyr masks and raised on round plinth bases with gilt metal mounts. No marks are visible due to the base mounting. Overall: 29 1/2 in H. Early to mid 20th century (porcelain vases may be earlier).
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection.
CONDITION: Repair to lid of one vase. A couple of drips of gray wall paint to porcelain which we have not attempted to remove. Lamps were functional at time of cataloging but functionality is not guaranteed and rewiring is recommended.
