Three (3) Japanese woodblock prints. 1st item: Tajima Hiroyuki (Japan, 1911-1984) abstract woodblock print in colors, 1965. Pencil signed, dated, and editioned 50/60, lower margin. Housed under glass in a modern, painted wood frame. Sight: 24 1/2" H x 19" W. Frame: 26 1/4" H x 21" W. 2nd item: Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858) Kyoka Tokaido horizontal chuban woodblock print, No. 38, Fijukawa, from the series 53 Stations of the Tokaido Road, c. 1840-42. Published by Sanoya Kihei (Kikakudo), with publisher's seal, lower left. Housed under glass in a distressed gilt wood frame with textile mat. Sight: 6 1/4" H x 8 7/16" W. Frame: 12 1/8" H x 13 2/4" W. 3rd item: Design on fabric with flowers including chrysanthemums, surrounded by a patterned fabric. Housed under plexiglass in a wooden frame wrapped with an embroidered textile. Sight: 12 1/2" H x 12 1/2" W. Frame: 13 7/8" H x 13 7/8' W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Dr. & Mrs. John H Cheek, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: Overall good condition, not examined outside of frames. 1st item with creasing, primarily to margins. 2nd item with three spots of foxing (to sky and to trees at left and right), plus soiling to lower left and two holes to right-hand margin, outside of image.
