Persian Kirman or Kerman rug, Lavar design, central red ground with an elongated medallion design with foliate spandrels on a cream ground, all within three primary foliate borders. Wool on wool, woven in colors of red, blue, green, cream, and pink. 4 ft 9 in x 3 ft. Circa 1920’s.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: Wear to both margins and losses to fringe on both ends, uneven pile wear to center with some very minor scattered staining. A few very small white knots are visible in the red ground.
