Assembled group of four (4) split oak baskets, Cherokee and East Tennessee. 1st-3rd items: Three (3) Cherokee split oak handled market or shopping baskets with walnut-dyed weavers. All unsigned. Largest example with old institutional informational report available to the winning bidder. Ranging in size from approx. 10" H x 10 3/8" W x 4 3/4" D to approx. 13 1/2" H x 16 3/4" W x 8" D. Mid-20th century. 4th basket: Large East Tn split oak waste basket, ovular form, with alternating walnut, bloodroot, and green dyed weavers. Unsigned. 15 1/4" H x 16 1/4" W x 9" D. 20th century.
CONDITION: 1st-3rd items: Scattered wear/rubbing to weavers, primarily to bases. Mid-sized basket with minor loss to weaver at one corner. Larger basket with scattered minor fraying to weavers. 4th item: Minor unraveling/loss to weavers at one corner of lower rim.
