Fred Webster (American, 1911-1998) carved and assembled wood sculpture, titled "Serpents Wont Harm a Child of God", depicting five male figures holding snakes with outstretched arms; attached to a flat panel base. Titled on a small wood plaque adhered to panel. Unsigned. 9" W x 10 1/2" H x 7 3/4" D. Purchased from G.H. Vander Elst Non Traditional Folk Art, Franklin, TN.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Two snakes no longer present, some pieces of figures are loose, one figure has a loss on his right arm, overall surface grime.
