Jack Cayton (American/South Carolina, 20th c.), "Appalachian Morning 1," watercolor painting depicting a white farmhouse at the edge of a grove of trees; a road winds from the foreground into the Appalachian mountains rising in the background. Signed "Jack Cayton" lower left. Titled, additionally signed, and dated April, 1989, en verso. Double matted and housed under glass in a narrow woodgrain molded frame. Sight: 19 1/2" W x 7 1/2" H. Frame: 25 5/8" x 13 5/8". Note: South Carolina artist Jack Cayton's award winning paintings have been exhibited at the Lotus Club, the Salmagundi Club, and the National Arts Club in New York.
