1 unmarked julep cup plus 37 pcs coin silver flatware, 38 items total, all marked J. DRAPER in rectangles for Joseph Draper, working Marshall County/Hopkinsville, Kentucky, c. 1850, or Joseph Draper, working Cincinnati 1832-1856. (For a discussion of the confusion between Joseph Drapers, see Boultinghouse, Silversmiths of KY, p. 100). Includes 2 cream or gravy ladles (6 1/4"L), 18 tablespoons, 7 dessert spoons, and 10 teaspoons. Assorted monograms. Julep cup is 3 1/4" H with no monograms or other markings. Flatware ranging in size from 5 1/2" to 9 1/4" L. Combined weight: 40.64 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Cora Jane Spiller, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
CONDITION: Julep cup has resoldered seam. 1 teaspoon with 1/4" tear to bowl, some spoons with wear to ends of bowls, several with dents. Ladles in very good condition.
