English sterling and porcelain portrait box, rectangular shape, gilt interior, hinged lid and inset porcelain top, hand-painted with half-portrait of a young boy with reddish-blonde hair, wearing a blue and white sailor suit. Hallmarks for George Howson, 1896, London. 2-1/8" H x 3-1/2" W x 8-1/8" L. 16.135 oz troy. CONDITION: Some scratches on image, largest 5/16 L in. Small area of inpainting lower left corner. Sterling box in very good condition with no visible dents.
