Group of vintage horse spurs, horseshoes and tack. 1st group: Pair of Spanish or Mexican brass spurs, openwork decoration, with buckles and 2" rowels, 6 1/2" L x 3 7/8" W x 2" D, circa 1840. 2nd group: Five Western brass spurs including pair and three similar singles, one pair with small rowels and leather straps, two singles with chains, one also with leather strap and chain, one only with leather strap, all 5 1/2" L x 4 1/4" W excluding chain and/or strap, late 19th c. 3rd group: Assortment of 4 iron horseshoes, 2 with some nails, horse bit, iron plow hitch ring and 3 iron oval rings, 1 1/4" L x 3/4" W to 5 1/4" L x 5" W, late 19th-early 20th c. Group also includes one late 19th/early 20th century set brass knuckles, 4 1/8" L x 2 1/2" W x 1/2" D. Provenance: the estate of Sarah Hunter Hicks Green, formerly of Historic Devon Farm, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: 1st group: One spur slightly misshapen. 2nd group: General toning to brass and wear to leather straps. 3rd group: Rust on all iron items and old patina to brass knuckle.
