English Neoclassical style silver plated epergne, together with a silverplated plateau. 1st item: Epergne with center cut crystal bowl raised on a quadruped base with neoclassical style legs and paw feet, surrounded by four smaller identical bowls, supported on four reeded and curving arms. Small flower mark to base, partially rubbed, and double marks to leg, also rubbed. 12 1/4 in H x 14 1/2 in W x 15 1/2 in D. Probably mid 19th century. Together with a circular plateau having central beveled mirror plate and four pierced and scrolled feet, unmarked, 14 in diameter by 1 1/2 in H, mid to late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Mrs. Alexander McLeod, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: Epergne – overall very good condition. Large bowl has some fleabites to base where the bowl joins the silver frame, not visible when sitting in frame. Scattered very minor fleabites and tiny minor chips to teeth on rims of bowls. Plateau has some silvering loss to mirror and polish residue to feet.
