Middle Tennessee, likely Marshall County, cherry sugar chest, poplar secondary wood. Rectangular hinged top with breadboard ends and a simple flat molding over a dovetailed case with an inset divider. Base with an ogee molding over a dovetailed drawer with wooden pulls. Case rests on bulbous turned legs ending in a compressed ball turning. 33 5/8 in. H x 30 5/8 in. W. x 19 in. D. History of descent in a Marshall Co., TN family. Circa 1835.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of George Bradley, Lewisburg, TN.
CONDITION: Older refinish with replaced hinges. Patches and repairs to wood around the hinges. Drawer with a rectangular cutout to the top edge on both sides of the drawer. Brass brace for the hinged top is a later addition.
