6 American coin silver items including 1 mug with raised molded foot and c scroll handle, monogrammed “Willie Brown,” maker’s mark J.W in rectangle with flourish ends (unattributed), 4 1/4 in. H; a pair of 2 matching unsigned salt cellars with repousse floral decoration; and 3 coin silver teaspoons. Two (2) of the spoons are marked JB in rectangle, likely John Brown, working Philadelphia and Baltimore circa 1800. The third spoon has pseudohallmarks of James Watts, Philadelphia, with retailer mark for James D. Bennett. John Brown spoons circa 1800, all other items second quarter 19th century. Combined weight: 9.89 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Mrs. Alexander McLeod, Nashville.
CONDITION: Spoons are monogrammed, with dents to bowls. Some denting up to 1/2 in on mug (side, handle and rims). Some pitting to interiors of salt cellars.
