Shadowbox framed collection of watercolor on ivory portrait miniatures. 1st item: George Washington, signed lower right J.K. (or T.K.), oval, in rectangular brass filigree frame. Condition: Some slight slipping of ivory from behind frame. Framed – 3 3/4" H x 3 1/8" W (all dimensions approximate). 2nd item: Painting of a lady in 18th century dress with head resting on hand, wearing pearl bracelet and a dark blue wrap. Signed lower right, R.A.? Oval gold tone frame with laurel and swag motif. Condition: small scratch or imperfection near signature. Framed – 3 1/8" H x 2 1/4" W. 3rd item: Painting of an 18th century lady with flowers in hair and on dress, with bare shoulders. Unsigned. Oval gold tone frame with foliate motif. Condition: Some apparent dust under glass. Framed – 3" H x 2 1/2" W (approximate). 4th item: Painting of a lady with feathered hat and blue dress, profile view full to waist. Possible partial signature at right (illegible). Simple goldtone frame with gadrooned edge and top hook. Condition: chip to glass on right hand side. 2" H x 1 1/2" W (approximate). 5th item: Portrait depicting a woman in Renaissance Style dress with elaborate pearl and gold pendant and ermine robe. Signed lower right Pit– or Pil–. Encased in a gold tone frame with laurel motif, surmounted with small colored stones (not tested) and filigree ball feet. Condition: small area of imperfection near signature which appears to only affect the glass. 3 3/8" H x 2 1/2" W. 6th item: Portrait depicting a young woman with blonde braided hairstyle and fur wrap. Signed illegibly at right. Condition: apparent area of water damage around top of frame, affecting outer 1/8" of image. Goldtone simple oval frame with gadrooned edge and top hook. 1 7/8" H x 1 1/2" W. 6th item: Portrait depicting an 18th century style lady in blue dress with flowers in her hair and bow tying a lace wrap at her neck, waist length view. Signed illegibly at right, D– . Oval gold filigree frame inset with small colored stones. Condition: three stones missing in frame, some warpage to frame. 4" H x 3 1/8" W. Overall – 14" H x 14" W x 1-1/4" D. All portraits likely European, late 19th century. Provenance: Collection of the late Edwin and Rebecca Raskin, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Frames are mounted to octagonal velvet panel and encased under glass, not examined out of glass. See item description above for individual condition issues.
