Near pair of hand-painted Italian Majolica earthenware chargers, in the style of Delphin Massier featuring nocturnal seascape scenes to the centers, raised floral and pink flower petal rims. The larger charger underside is stamped with a crown and "M", attributed to the Mollica factory. Largest measures 21", the other is slightly smaller. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: A few of the flower petals have old break repairs, some minor scattered fleabites and minor break repairs to rims, and some scattered crazing and surface wear to paint decoration.
