English Regency style armchair that converts to library stairs; rectangular molded tablet style crest rail and splat, molded arms ending in carved volutes and square molded raking legs; faux green leather seat is hinged at front, allowing crestrail to be tipped forward, converting the base to a four step library ladder with tooled leather on steps. Height as chair: 34" H x 22 1/2" W x 26" D. Height as Ladder: 27". English, mid to late 19th century. CONDITION: Scattered abrasions and surface wear throughout; two 1" areas of veneer loss to rear foot of chair (becomes front foot of ladder). Wear to leather on steps.
