Five (5) Werner Wildner (Nashville, Tennessee, 1925-2004) works on paper. 1st-3rd items: Three (3) graphite on paper, two (2) with gouache, drawings of Ancient Greek or Roman subjects, including one (1) depicting Bacchus drinking from a goblet and perched atop a wine cask in a landscape setting, one (1) depicting a male Cherub holding a Roman helmet and cloak over his head, and one (1) depicting the obverse of a coin depicting Alexander the Great. Bacchus and Cherub signed with monogram "W" lower left, coin signature possibly obscured by mat. 4th item: Graphite on paper drawing depicting the face of an overweight man with blank eyes. Faintly signed with monogram "W" lower right. 5th item: Color offset lithograph print titled "Humpty Dumpty" after an original painting by Wildner, published by Add-On Inc. Nashville, 1980. Depicts the fairy tale character holding a top hat and sitting on a wall, skeletal remains, broken egg shells, and white flower on the ground beneath him, against a transitional sky background. Signed "Wildner" in the stone, lower left. Faintly inscribed and signed "To J..n/from Werner" with the image of a bat, lower left, title and publication information, lower center and right, below the image. All items housed under glass in various wooden frames, four (4) matted. Sights ranging in size from 5" H x 4 3/4" W to 21 1/4" H x 12 1/8" W. Frames ranging in size from 13" H x 10" W to 23" H x 14" W.
CONDITION: All items in overall good condition with toning. Not examined outside of frames. Frames with minor abrasions. 1st-3rd items: Cherub drawing with scattered foxing spots, largest 1/2", primarily to right side of sheet (slightly affects image). Alexander the Great drawing with 1/2" tear, lower right (does not affect image), minute white paint mark to glass.
