Regency period looking glass, rectangular with flat molded cornice that projects at corners, adorned with ball drops, over a textured frieze with applied carved scroll ornament, flanked by plinths with ebonized lion masks. The mirror plate below is divided from the top section by a dentil molding, and flanked by carved, partially ebonized caryatids with fishscale carving. 28 1/2 in. W x 4 1/2 in. D x 38 1/4 in. H. English, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Living Estate of Sally Johnson Harlan.
CONDITION: Small chips and losses throughout, oxidation and surface wear. Glass plate is likely an old replacement. Epoxy/composite fills are present along the top unexposed border, with a stabilizing bracket added top right.
