English Georgian-style mahogany bureau or chest of drawers. Oak secondary. Serpentine top above a conforming-fronted case with four string-inlaid, graduated, and dovetailed drawers, canted and reeded stiles, and substantial canted bracket feet. 31 3/8 in. H x 40 1/2 in. W x 22 3/4 in. D. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Josephine Ralston Binns (Mrs. Douglas Binns), Nashville/Fayetteville, TN.
CONDITION: Scattered abrasions, shrinkage, and wear. Repairs, lifting and losses to veneer. Some rebuilding/reinforcement to drawer sides.
