Eight (8) George Ayers Cress (American/Tennessee, 1921-2008) charcoal drawings on paper and paper board. Four titled lower right, depicting specific landscapes or locations, including Sedona, Arizona; Beaufort, South Carolina; Camden, Maine; Hills above Big Sur (California). Seven signed "George Cress", one titled illegibly lower right. All pieces dated, between 1955-1999. All with museum accession numbers to lower right corners in pencil en verso. Five matted. All unframed. Overall dimensions ranging from 11" H x 12 1/2" W to 17" H x 18 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: Property of the Hunter Museum of American Art.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Some pieces with light toning. Arizona drawing with residual tape to edge en verso from previous hinge mounting.
