French Neoclassical style cobalt glass claret jug or ewer with silver mounts, the deep blue glass body adorned with overlaid silver decoration of Classical Greek figures engaged in various activities, surmounted by a silver frame with egg and dart banding, a covered beaded spout and curved handle with dolphin head terminus. Egg and dart banding adorns the shoulder, base and raised foot. Minerva head effaced marks to the area under handle and at top of the foot. 12 1/2"H. 19th century. Provenance: the estate of Mary Ann Sugg, Franklin, Tennessee. CONDITION: Excellent condition.
