Nine (9) pieces of British Tunbridgeware and one (1) Mauchlineware egg. Tundbridge ware includes: one (1) book cover with geometric and floral decoration; one (1) jewelry box, with inlaid decoration to top and sides, with tufted velvet interior; one (1) trinket box inlaid with star pattern to top; one (1) small note pad cover with paper, pencil, and pocket inside; one (1) small box for stamps; and four (4) rulers or straight edges of varying lengths. Also included is one (1) Mauchlineware sewing egg, with a detailed scene titled “Convalescent Home, Hunstanton”, referring to a recovery home in Norfolk county, England, opened in 1879, and containing a thimble and small spool of thread. Items range in size from 1 1/2 in. x 1 1/2 in to 11 in x 4 in. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Ian M. Mathison, Murfreesboro TN and Big Rapids, MI.
CONDITION: Each object in very good overall condition.
