Minton white Parian porcelain figural centerpiece compote depicting a classical nude woman with a loosely draped garment on a naturalistic base holding a large centerpiece bowl overhead having a scalloped rim, foliate exterior, and glazed interior; the whole mounted to a round foliate decorated base with classical motifs and three scrolled feet. The underside impressed MINTON with additional impressed hallmarks, including a date mark. 19 1/2" H x 10" dia. English, circa 1862.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Edward Laudermilk, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: A white filler added to underside of centerpiece bowl to stabilize assembled piece. A few areas of separation, possibly in the making, to back of knee, back of drapery, and underside of foot.
