Two American 19th century jacquard coverlets. 1st coverlet of blue and ivory cotton decorated with peacocks, turkeys, trees and flowers. 72" x 74". 2nd coverlet of red and cream cotton decorated with acanthus leaf, vine and floral design, dated 1859. 86" x 93". Provenance: Forest Heights, Knoxville, TN collection. CONDITION: 1st coverlet: Reinforced on back along edges. Resewn, mostly along center seam. Some fraying along edges. 2nd coverlet: Several areas of wear or missing fibers, longest is 10" L. Losses to edges.
