Rococo-style dessert service, including two (2) raised compotes with tall bases and two (2) raised compotes with shallow bases, all with tripod scrolling feet; and eight (8) dessert plates. The entire set features hand-painted centers depicting varying fruit and floral bouquets, scallop reticulated rims with blue ground, gilt highlights, and enamel-raised beading. All 9 1/2" dia. Compotes ranging in height from 2 1/2" H to 6 1/4" H. English, mid 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: One shallow compote with three hairline cracks to underside, largest 3" L. One tall compote with missing scroll decoration to base. Two dessert plats with slight craquelure and small hairline cracks to rims on the underside. Two dessert plates each with one small hairline crack to rim. Some with varying losses to gilt highlights.
