An assembled group of six (6) miniature portraits, English or Continental, including: a companion pair of male and female portraits, both subjects attired in Victorian clothing and housed in matching burlwood veneer frames with brass liners; plus four (4) portraits in ebonized frames with gilt sight edges. Includes one (1) depicting a military officer; one (1) depicting a young female attired in a coral dress with pearl necklace and tiara; one (1) depicting a young female in a white dress and pearl choker; and one (1) depicting a dark haired man with striped vest. All are unsigned, although some have illegible inscriptions en verso. Sights ranging in size from 1 1/2" H x 1 1/8" W to 3 3/4" H x 3 1/8" W. Frames ranging in size from 4 1/2" H x 3 1/4" W to 8" H x 6 1/4' W.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville, Tennessee estate.
CONDITION: All items overall good condition. Portrait of military officer has some rubbing and wear to lower edge. Portrait of lady in white dress has some small scratches and spots, plus trapped hairs. Frames with wear, minor lifting and losses to veneer, primarily to lower edge.
