Pair of French Empire Paris porcelain vases mounted in ormolu and later fitted as lamps. The Sienna background is hand enameled in Sepia Grisaille with Boucher-like figures in landscape scenes. The vases are mounted on a socle and further decorated with vasiform ring handles. Once oil lamps, the vases have been attributed to the Porcelain de la Courtille factory. 19th century. Lamps: 17" H. 29 1/2" total H.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both in overall very good condition. Rewired with contemporary wiring and both functioning at the time of inspection.
