Pair of Oil on Board Female paintings. 1st item: 19th century oil on board depicting a young European peasant girl beneath a tree with carrying basket, in front of green paneled door. Signed in red lower right AZZARIM. Old E. F. French, New York City label en verso along with a Frederick Loeser & Co., Brooklyn, NY label. Housed in carved gilt wood frame. Sight: 14 1/4" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed: 18 1/2" H x 13 3/4" W. 2nd item: European oval oil on board depicting a Graecian female, seated upon a column and playing a lyre. Applied conforming wood gilt painted frame. Sight: 28 3/4" H x 16 1/8" H. Framed: 30 3/8" H x 17 7/8" W. Late 19th/early 20th century. Condition: 1st item: Very light overall craquelure. Minor wear to frame, especially at corners. 2nd Item: Several deep scratch repairs to center. Overall light craquelure with some small areas of alligatoring to paint. A couple areas of separation of frame from board. Scattered wear/losses to gilt paint on frame. Please refer to blacklight photos. CONDITION: 1st item: Very light overall craquelure.
