Near pair of two (2) English Regency paint-decorated armchairs. Fluted and carved crest rails over wide panels decorated with raised foliate decoration, pierced diamond-shaped back splats with Prince of Wales feathers, open arms with curved supports, and padded seats with carved front seat rails, all resting on fluted tapered legs. Both chairs with a black lacquer finish with gilded highlights on the carved elements and striped damask upholstery. 32 1/4" H x 21 1/2" W x 17" D. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both chairs in overall good condition with expected general use wear and abrasions. Scattered touchup/repaint. One chair with break repair to rear left leg near seat and the other leg slightly loose.
