American Federal mahogany card table, New York or Philadelphia. Consisting of an oblong top with canted corners and reeded edges above a conforming apron, the standard with four ring-turned, reeded and fluted standards continuing to a shaped plinth, above four down swept reeded legs ending in brass animal paw feet on brass castors. 29 3/4" H x 35 5/8" W x 17 1/2" D (when closed). Early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Collection of John H. and Carol R. Evans, Farragut, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Top with minor scattered scratching and staining. The plinth appears to be a later replacement.
