William IV Scottish sterling silver wine ewer, the hinged cover having a floral finial over an egg and dart flared rim, body with repousse grape and leaf decoration, central cartouche, and a wooden handle, raised on a circular foot with egg and dart and grapevine decoration. Marked on side for Edinburgh, 1830s (part of date mark rubbed) with maker and sponsor's marks David Crichton Rait and I & Co. 12 1/2" H. 35.07 oz troy.
CONDITION: Wood handle appears to be a replacement. No monograms. Several small dents and scratches to body; foot does not sit completely flat.
