Two (2) Reuben Nakian (New York, 1897-1986) Expressionist drypoint etchings with chine-colle, from the Myths and Legends series. Both signed in pencil, lower right, and editioned "H.C.," (Hors D' Commerce) lower left. 1st item: Nymph and Goat I, 1979, in black ink. Housed in red and gilt wooden frame with ivory mat. Plate: 16 3/4" H x13 1/2" W. Sight: 19" H x 15 1/2" W. Frame: 30" H x 24 1/2" W. 2nd item: Nymph and Goat III, 1979, in black ink. Housed in a contemporary wooden frame with white mat. Plate:13 1/2" H x 16 1/2" W. Sight: 16 3/4" H x 20" W. Frame: 27" W x 23 1/4" H.
PROVENANCE: Vanderbilt Hillel, from the Benjamin D. and Ruby G. Schulman Foundation.
CONDITION: Both prints in apparent good condition. Not examined outside of frames. 2nd item's frame with some abrasions plus loose fillet and 3" split in wood, upper left corner.
