Large Pauline Wallen (TN, 1922-2010) abstract oil on canvas, blue field with vertical and horizontal black lines. Signed lower left PAULINE WALLEN. Housed in a simple painted wood frame with linen liner. Sight: 36" H x 49" W. Framed: 39" H x 53 1/4" W. Biography: A Knoxville native, Wallen studied art at Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C.; the University of Tennessee; the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Stuart Art School, both in Washington, D.C. In 1982 she was awarded the Medaille D'Argent Aquarelle at Le Grand Palais Salon Des Artistes Francais for her watercolor painting, CLASSIC REALISM.
