George Headley companion pair 14k yellow and white gold ruby and diamond brooches in a swirl design, each containing 4 cts faceted natural rubies and .70 ct single cut and old European cut diamonds, approximately H-I, VS2-I1. 2-3/8"L x 3/4"W (18.3 grams) and 2-1/2"L x 3/4"W (19.4 grams). 37.7 grams total. Exhibited: The George Headley Retrospective, Sept. 29, 2006-Jan. 7, 2007 at The Headley-Whitney Museum in Lexington, Kentucky (illustrated in exhibition catalog, p. 16). Provenance: the estate of Mrs. Warren (Bertha) Wright, ex-Calumet Farm, Lexington, KY. Condition: 3 single cut diamonds chipped in longer brooch. 5 single cut diamonds chipped in shorter brooch.
