Signed and dated "Edward Hurst 1949" lower right. Housed in a carved wooden frame. Sight: 29 1/2" H x 21 1/2" W. Framed: 37" H x 29 1/4" W. Note: This piece was commissioned to commemorate the engagement of the consignor's grandparents, Eleanor Lloyd Keener and William Parker Wright. 2nd item: Pastel botanical painting depicting a pansy flower. Signed "Edward Hurst" lower right. Additionally signed and dated "May 1963" to the previous backing paper, now included in backing sleeve. Housed and double matted under glass in a giltwood frame. Sight: 4" H x 4" W. Framed: 10 3/4" H x 10 3/4" W.

CONDITION: 1st item: Minor toning to paper. Pinprick hole to upper center edge. 2nd item: Overall excellent condition.
