1st item: Leon Rene Pescheret (Wisconsin/Illinois/Arizona/England, 1892-1971) East Tennessee Smoky Mountain landscape color etching with aquatint entitled "In the Smokies. Tenn." Scene depicts a rustic cabin nestled in the Smoky Mountains, visible in the distance and rendered in shades of blue, purple, and green. A dirt road and creek are in lower left, and a man sits on the cabin's porch while another figure rides a mule down the road. Initialed LRP in plate, lower left. Signed in pencil "Leon Pescheret," lower right, and titled in pencil, lower left. Housed under glass in a wood frame with white mat. Plate: 13 7/8" H x 10 7/8" W. Sight: 14 1/4" H x 11 1/8" W. Frame: 22 3/4" H x 18 5/8" W. 2nd item: Harrison Cady (New York/Massachusetts, 1877-1970) etching with drypoint depicting Kincaid's General Store before a Smoky Mountain landscape. The lively scene is populated with numerous human figures and animals including mules, pigs, dogs, chickens, and a cat. Signed "Harrison Cady," lower right, and editioned "imp/100" (from an edition of 100), lower left. Housed under glass in a wooden frame with white mat. Plate: 10 3/4" H x 12 3/4" W. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 13 1/2" W. Frame: 19 1/2" H x 20 1/4" W. 3rd item: Elliot Daingerfield (North Carolina/New York, 1859-1932) etching on laid paper in red ink with sepia plate tone entitled "An Old Master At Last" and after a drawing by Walter Satterlee (New York, 1844-1908) depicting an aged artist before an easel and accompanied by studio props. Signed in plate "E. Daingerfield-fecit-1883," lower left. Marginal inscription by the artist in pencil reads "Designed by W. Satterlee," lower left, and "Etched by E. Daingerfield," lower right. Numbered in pencil in "#3," lower right, under mat. Housed under glass in a giltwood frame with brown paint and cream mat. With Closson Cincinnati gallery label on backing. CONDITION: 1st item: Excellent condition. Some slight foxing visible around signature. 2nd item: Very good condition with toning to paper. Some scrapes to frame. 3rd item: Excellent condition. Sheet is hinge-mounted to backing. Slight buckling and negligible foxing. With scattered scratches to frame.
