Two (2) Alfonso Iannelli (American/Italian, 1888-1965) screenprint posters from the series of posters created for Los Angeles's Orpheum Theater between 1910 and 1915 and published in an edition of 1000 silkscreen prints by The Chicago Architecture Foundation, 1968. 1st item: Meehan's Canines poster depicting three leaping dogs along with the text "Meehan's Canines Featuring His Celebrated Leaping Hounds." With printed signature center right. 2nd item: Alice Lloyd poster depicting the British music hall performer along with the text "Alice Lloyd England's Daintiest and Most Popular Comedienne." With printed signature lower left. Both housed under plexiglass in simple metal frames. Sights: 41" H x 31" W. Frames: 42 3/4" H x 32 1/2"W. Note: Not wanting to be known for commercial art, Iannelli did not reproduce his Orpheum Theater posters during his lifetime. As such, the 1968 Chicago Architecture Foundation edition became the earliest printed versions of these posters.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. With negligible buckling to sheets. 1st item with minor abrasions to gold dog. 2nd item with abrasions especially in lower area around text and to hair, 4" L. Not examined out of frames.
