Southern School, early to mid 20th century, oil on artist board landscape depicting an elderly African American woman with a bundle of sticks in one hand and cane in the other, standing alongside a dirt road leading past a log cabin, with pine trees and open fields in the background. Unsigned; possibly by Ruth M. Taylor (name written en verso of painting). Housed in a gilt painted wood frame. Sight: 17 3/8" H x 23 3/8" W. Framed: 19 1/2" H x 25 1/2" W. 20th century. CONDITION: Light scratches/abrasions the lower left quadrant area of road and smaller scattered abrasions on lower portion of woman's dress and trunk of tree. Some scattered abrasions to frame.
