1st item: Chinese painted wooden dressing mirror or jewelry chest, two pieces, having an elaborate pierced crest with opposing phoenix birds and fish decoration, the top portion with two drawers and the base with one long drawer. 37 1/2" H x 19 1/2" W x 9 1/4" D. 2nd item: Chinese red lacquered pedestal with elaborate naturalistic carved shaft having openwork, gilt highlights and a stained wood octagonal base. 45" H. Both late 19th/early 20th century. Condition: Dressing mirror: Some repaired breaks with general wear due to use. Later paint added. Pedestal: scattered wear, chips and losses, including a lost tip to carving on shaft, chip to upper capital area and wear/losses to top edge.
